We would love to come and work with your centre. Please check out our answers to our most frequently asked questions below or feel free to complete our booking enquiry form for more information.
Offering our dance classes gives centres an added advantage and has even helped increase enrolments on the days classes run, providing families with a convenient, hassle-free opportunity to access the programme. Research shows that creative movement supports children’s physical, social, and emotional development, and our imaginative, exploration-based approach aligns closely with Te Whāriki. This allows centres to capture rich learning moments to include in individual child reports, further strengthening the value of the programme for families and the centre.
Regular bookings – a minimum of 5 children and maximum of 10 children per class
Workshops – a maximum of 24 children with a ratio of 1:10 support staff (our instructor counts as 1 of these)
One-Off Bookings – to be discussed based on booking details
In most cases, our centre classes are recommended to be 30 minutes long. This ensures that children can stay engaged both physically and cognitively. We generally split the classes based on age and discusss this ahead of your booking to suit your rooms as much as possible. With our minimum booking time of one hour, this allows you to have at least two sessions in a booking.
Our workshop sessions are slightly longer at 40 – 45 minutes, as this includes storytime and costumes.
Our classes are best suited to 2 – 5 year olds, but please feel free to enquire about classes outside of this age group.
Our instructors are all vetted by the NZ Police and are able to teach on a limited authority. So, your tamariki can be taught unsupervised to ensure centre ratios remain unaffected.
Our workshops require educator support at a ratio of 1:10 (our instructor counts as one). This is primarily to support the children who might be easily distracted and to ensure that your ratios are also managed.
We will make every effort to provide a relief instructor if your regular instructor isn’t able to teach on your scheduled day / time. Where this isn’t possible, a make-up session will be offered to suit, or in the event of a cancellation, centres won’t be charged for the missed class/es.
With our ‘invoice to parents’ option, we will notify parents and centres of any changes and credits will be offered where make up sessions aren’t able to be offered.
Yes. Please feel free to ask for a copy of our insurance certificate.
All of our sessions are high energy and full of excitement and fun, and our instructors arrive with everything they need. This will include our fun props, carefully selected music that is designed to engage children and our enthusiastic instructor.
Our workshop sessions also include costumes and storytime for most of the sessions. These sessions are based on a theme, and all of the exercises will run as part of an adventure that have learning outcomes that incorporate the strands and principals of Te Whariki.
This will depend on your booking type, but generally all we need is a cleared space for us to dance, suitable for the number of children participating, and perhaps a power outlet. Some centres use their sleep rooms, or simply a cleared area of the main space.
With our workshop bookings, we will require support staff at a ratio of 1:10 to help support the children to stay engaged. We provide all the promotional material to make it as hassle free as possible and any additional requirements will be advised when you enquire or make a booking, specific to your booking.
